Qualcomm has announced its next-generation top-of-the-line chipset for smartphones, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, succeeding the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets. The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset improves CPU and GPU performance with better efficiency.
So far, only one smartphone has launched with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 – the Vivo X80 Pro+ – though it is only launched in China now, but will soon debut in the international market. At the launch, Qualcomm confirmed that Xiaomi, Redmi, Motorola, iQoo and others would launch Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered smartphones.
